My Civic does something similar. If I'm really pushing and passing all over the place, mainly when I'm over a buck. I'll slow down and the engine light will come on. I'm sure it's a sensor getting hot. and combination loose wire in the harness that clicks into the ecu.

same thing happens to me sometimes when i slow down the car with engine compression, or when im on the throttle really heavy for 15+ more sec. i checked it, and its an 02 code. it dissappears when i start up the car again (doesnt save the code). my guess is that im running too rich b/c of my 255lph pump.

Re: (dantastic)
you guys are wrong. it does save the code. it temporarily goes away when you turn off the motor and start it again. Even though the check engine light is off, jump the ecu wire and it will tell you why the CEL came on. You reset it by removing the ecu fuse for 15 seconds or disconnecting the negative on the battery for 15 seconds. check the code though HUBB.

Re: (xerox445)
so yeah we jumped the wires and it thru a 02 sensor code and that was all...... we cancelled the code cus of my chipped p28 and now its all good......there was nothin wrong with the 02 sensor it was just that the motor was gettin to much fuel so the computer just thru the code.....i think
