When i bought my car it came with a d16y8 swapped into a 97 civic hb. The motor was pulled from an automatic and had the automatic intake manifold.

I recently purchased a manual d16y8 intake manifold and throttle body. Upon successfully swapping the IM and TB i start the car up to find a CEL.

I take it to Advanced auto parts to check the code.. The car throws a code for the "fuel/air sensor"

Mess around with the vtec wiring switching the two wires not grounded back and forth and re-starting to still see a CEL.

At this point I call it quits for the night.

The next day i go to advanced again to get the codes for the CEL.

The codes brought up are as follows:

P1259
P0453
P0450 (pending)

This is what came up the first time he checked..

He then erased and re-checked..

Only to find the first code P1259 to show up..

Later on in the day and it appears as though my alternator is shitting the bed.. Car is sluggish, lights in the gague cluster such as CEL, E-brake and seat belt begin to flicker in and out. The headlights are simultaneously fading in and out.. The car also revs itself up past 1000. (The car did not do this before the lights began to fade*)

Any tips in the right direction or past experience with this code would be very appreciated.

Anyone have a link to a vtec wiring diagram for the d16y8?
