Default 3-wire to 2-wire iacv problems d16y8 need help

When i bought my car it came with a d16y8 swapped into a 97 civic hb. The motor was pulled from an automatic and had the automatic intake manifold.

I recently purchased a manual d16y8 intake manifold and throttle body. Upon successfully swapping the IM and TB i start the car up to find a CEL.

I take it to Advanced auto parts to check the code.. The car throws a code for the "fuel/air sensor" Which the guy doing the test told me was the plug located in the Cold air intake. The sensor was then un-plugged and re-plugged just to make sure the connection was ok.. Then, we have the guy re-check to see if the code still comes up.. He checks and no codes pop up.. But there is still a check engine light.. Once i got back home the sensor was pulled out to have a look.. The sensor appears to be deformed.. from what i don't know..

I plan on going back to advanced and seeing if the code pops up again tomorrow... If so, i'm going to buy the air fuel sensor.

Although, I'm kinda in doubt that this is the real problem considering two days prior to the intake manifold swap the car was running fine with the stock computer and automatic intake manifold.. No CEL

So, any ideas as to what this problem could be would be much appreciated.

thanks.

Edit: Ok, so i'm back from the auto store and had the Cel checked again..

The codes brought up are as follows:

P1259
P0453
P0450 (pending)

This is what came up the first time he checked..

He then erased and re-checked..

Only to find the first code P1259 to show up..

Hmmm.... I am a bit confused on what is going on here.

Maybe you can clarify a few things.

You have a 97 civic hatch with a automatic Y8 engine swap with a manual Y8 intake manifold which has the 2-wire IACV.

Is your car manual or automatic?

Which stock computer are you using? Auto or Manual CX/DX or EX ecu?

When you go to auto store again can you write down the exact code? for example P0420

As far as I know the only fuel/air sensor there is the Primary Oxygen sensor.

The sensor plugged in your Air Intake system is your (IAT) Intake Air Temperature sensor.

The car is a manual cx.. When i bought the car, the previous owner had the stock manual cx computer installed running to a d16y8 with an automatic intake manifold.. 3-wire iacv.

I did the 3 to 2-wire iacv.. pulled orange wire from plug and moved the black wire from A12 to A14. And swapped the auto IM to manual.

The previous owner gave me the computer needed to run the y8 which is a p2p... (this computer is installed now, yes)

I will go by the auto store later and get the code for sure..

thanks.

You're on the right path. Did you also get a 2-wire IACV connector for the Manual Y8 manifold and soldered it to your existing 3-wire IACV wires?
Does your car drive or idle weird or does it only throw a cel?
