Default Six check engine light codes! Please help

Ok, so recently i've been having quite a bit of trouble with my car.

Specs:

97 dx/cx (emblems removed before i purchased) civic hatchback with d16y8 swap. Running a p2p computer.

Problems: After doing an intake manifold swap from automatic to manual i had a CEL for vtec syst malfunction.. p1259 (bad wiring)

While driving around one night the speed-o suddenly went out and the headlights began pulsing from bright to dull.

After checking the CEL codes i now find 5 more codes.

They are as follows:
p1298
p0135
p0141
p0453
p0450

After going to a shop and having it checked out i now have the vtec wires soldered and wired properly to the ecu.

However i still have the CEL code p1259. And all the others listed above.

Upon doing some research on the codes via google i have discovered a couple different options to solve my problems..

The first involving codes p1298, p0141 and p0135

The solution given is to change the Engine fuse box which contains the ELD. Also removing the bracket under the intake manifold to examine wires possibly contacting the engine block creating a short.

And the second involving codes p0453 and possibly p0450

The solution here is to replace the gas tank with a tank equipped with an FTP sensor. The d16y8 i have is pulled from a 98 ex.. These vehicles came standard with an FTP sensor.. The cx and dx models did not. Since the p2p computer is from a 98 ex it is looking for the FTP sensor.

My question to you is have you ever heard of either of these methods solving similar problems and what do you think could be causing these problems?

i've heard of something that may cause this, something about wires chaffing against the steering colum or something and it'll eventually stop charging your battery and such.

Here is your problem: http://www.hondalac.com/servic...e.pdf

I had this problem also, here is the thread for you to read through. If you tried to use the search, you need to use the RED search option in the upper right part of the page. Then type in your codes and enter. If you do not get anything, click on the ARCHIVE button option to the right and try again.
