Default CEL with VTEC

Im having a problem. I have a z6 in my hatch and i recently swapped out the tranny for another ex-si one. Since the swap I have been having a CEL problem. When I start the car and drive normally it is fine, no CEL, but whever I hit VTEC a CEL comes on. Usually it is after I shift when it comes on. Then if I turn off the car and start it again, voila, no CEL. Anyone know how to fix this or atleast what the problem is? Thanks for the help

Speedo is consistant.
I just checked my oil level and it is past the 2nd dot on the dipstick.... could having too much oil cause that? Should I drain some out?
