Default CEL QUESTION!

so i pulled codes from my car
2000 civic coupe ex D16y8

it gives me the code that im running too rich, then a pause with nothing a long light, a pause then the rich code again. is the single long light a code? or does it represent that the codes are being re sent.

what happened was i drove through a very deep puddle during some crazy rain we had in san diego and a few moments later (3-5 mins) i throw a cel. after some driving i still had good gas mileage until about a week ago where i ended up getting 20mpg...yes 20mpg out of a 1.6l engine and no i havent changed my driving style, plugs are ok, and the oil was just changed.

i want to think that the long flash for the cel is telling me its the intake air temp. sensor.

am i right? or is it the o2 sensor? (theres no code saying the o2 sensor is bad though)

thanks everyone

So a puddle caused you to throw a 45?

and this: <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by travisallenn &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
it gives me the code that im running too rich, then a pause with nothing a long light, a pause then the rich code again </TD></TR></TABLE>

Sounds like a 10, aka IAT Sensor

But that still wouldnt make sense of how a puddle could have caused you to loose milage

Its still odd that water can mess up the Air/Fuel Mixture..., Have u noticed any major loss of power?

The IAT is the little sensor think that plugs up to a hole on the actual SRI. If u have an ebay one, it might not have that hole and might be dangling around the engine bay...

One last thing have u tried resetting the ecu then seeing if the CELs come back?
