Default CEL..counting flashes to get code #...

ok, i just fixed my check light (the bulb) and when i do the jumper
test and attempt to count flashes idk if i'm doin it right lol....
i turn the car to the on position and the light is on, then once i start the car
it starts flashing, obviously, i am having trouble counting correctly (keep in mind i have never done this)
i tried like 10 times and every time i get a different number...
anyway to make this easier on myself lol??

just remember, long blinks are 10's (1 sec), shorts are 1's (.5 sec). So 7 shorts would be a code 7. 1 long would be a 10 though, you wont get 10 shorts for that one. 2 long and 7 shorts would be a 27. Just stair at it a while and get the hang of telling the long from the shorts and youll be fine. Also, if you have a code with a longs and shorts the spacing between flashing long and shorts will be smaller compared to the period of time it waiting in between flashing whole codes.
