CEL Code 65 "Secondary oxygen sensor heater" '00 Civic DX / SI
I HAVE SEARCHED, but you cannot search too well for "65" as it is too short.
I am doing a swap and need help.
I have swapped a full '00 SI engine into my '00 DX hatch.
I am throwing only one CEL code, code 65.
This code means:
65 Secondary oxygen sensor heater
To wire the secondary o2 sensor I followed the instructions show here:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1314886
I have used the o2 sensor from my DX hatch screwed into my SI catalytic converter because the one from the SI has cut wires (yeah my fault)
Has anyone had this problem?
I really REALLY need help. I want soo bad to drive my car and this one code is the only thing stopping me.
HELP ME FIX MY SECONDARY o2 SENSOR PLEASE
thanks honda-tech, this forum alone has given me the knowledge to do this swap so far.

Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 sec. and connect it again to reset the ECU.
Start the car and drive around the block a couple times.

It doesn't really do anything to the management. It just tells the OBD that the cat is not running efficiently. Maybe the wires are switched or even could be in the wrong pin on the ECU. You can drive the car if that is the only code you are throwing. Not a big deal unless you have to pass emissions soon in your state. GL

just a bump, any other ideas
Thanks alot for the help guys.
The car is idling strangley though, that is the reason for my concern.
When I start the car up and just let it idle it will just gradually increas from 900rpm up to about 1500rpm then fluctuate between the two.

For anyone with the same problem, I disconnected my battery and restarted the car and the CEL was gone. So looks like it just needed to be cleared from the ECU

Not quite. OBD2 requires a certain amount of "run time" after you reset the code. Code scanners (as well as State Inspection Stations) run something called a Readiness Test which goes through several basic tests such as misfire monitor, fuel system monitor, catalysts, etc. before the check engine light will come on again (if problem is NOT fixed). So, even though you may have effectively reset the check engine light and the problem still exists, the check engine light will come back on when the ECU completes the readiness tests.

**bump** back from the dead...
Any way to bypass this code? I'm not running a cat or rear o2 sensor, and I don't want to just pull the CEL bulb or cut the wire, and way to trick the ecu into thinking its there?

Same issue, it's really smell bad too. Going to replace Catalyst converter and see if that solves it...
