Civic Si o2 sensor code p0132 and now P0131
Hey y’all. Went through a big puddle the other day and then got a CEL. When I read the code it came
up as both P0131 and p0132. I turned it off and when it came back on it was just the p0132 code so I checked the sensor and it looked like the white wire was no longer attached. So I swapped it out. Unfortunately whoever changed it last time cut the plug out so I had to hard wire it in. After the swap I take if for a drive. It’s ok for a couple cycles but then it idles iradic and then idles low and the CEL comes back on this time
with just the P0131 code. I don’t know if this would be that I wired the o2 sensor backwards maybe. Or could it be something else. Im lost on what even to check next appears to be no lose vacuum hoses or anything. Anyone have any thoughts?
thanks. Victor

O2's prefer to be replaced in pairs. So if you only put in one new one the old may not be able keep up with new one.

Maybe, but the code for both comes as sensor one bank one it would think it would come up as the secondary if that were the case?

Scout Junkyards for a replacement primary O2 sensor connector. Splice, solder, and heat shrink insulate the wires. Then go from there.

So you’re saying that splicing may not have worked and it’s sending a code? What was on there worked for 4 years at least before it went and it was hard wired in.

I believe if it was wired incorrectly that it would appear dead to the ecu and not send a P0131 but I’m asking if anyone actually knows. Yes, having it wired right is a great idea but that’s pretty straight forward. Im
wondering if anyone has any ideas beyond that

...I’m listening dear
if you have any more than “wire it right” I’m all ears. Or even if you had something smart to say but little quips like that was then, this is now are not technical or even ideas. What is this an action film I don’t need your one line sayings. I’m looking for someone with some experience with the same issue or ideas of what else could throw the code. Thanks
