car wont start, solid CEL light, replaced ecu already!
my car wont start, im getting a spark too. Yesterday i went to pick up my gf, and before she got in the car, i bent over to the passenger side to put my ecu back into the corner so that she wouldnt kick it with her feet. When i picked it up, i saw a spark and the car shut off. I thought i burnt out the ecu so i bought another one, but my car still wont start. Is there a fuse for the ecu?
the car is a 96 honda civic hatchback, used to be automatic, now it's converted to manual running a jdm b18c R

fuel fuse? he said he checked the main relay, i dont understand. is their such a thing as a fuel fuse...
anyways to the op, it has to be a fuse check everything it sounds annoying, but you will eventually find it, i dont think you burnt out the ecu, just caused a short. since you bought a new one might as well not worry about it now.

yeah you guys were right. it was a fuse. my first response when the car didnt turn on was check the fuse, but i didnt see a fuse called "ecu" so i skipped that... i couldve saved 6hrs of driving and 80$ for a new ecu if i wouldve checked ALL the fuses.

always check your fuses first. that's the purpose of them to stop the circuit in it's tracks.

yeah , i've never had this problem before on my ek. on my eg, i knew there was a fuse called "ECU" but on the EK it's named something else, thats why i didnt bother checking all the fuses. Oh well, you live and learn . thanks HT
