Default car wont start, battery wiring?

i just bought a new battery about a week ago, today after work i turned the key and dash lights and everything came on, then it just died completely after i tried to crank over the engine. I tried jumping it and had no luck, i jiggled the terminals and the dash lights came on, but then died again when i went to crank it over. Does this sound like a battery, or some problem with the wiring to the battery?

Check the ignition switch -- see FAQs sticky.

Replace the electrical part of the ignition switch.

Why would you suspect it? How did you install it?

Well since it is wired into the ignition wiring, I followed the diagram exactly though and it works as it should.

Did you solder and heat shrink wrap the wire splices? If not, you may want to redo it.

Soldered, didnt use heat shrink wrap though, just electric tape, wrapped tight. It seems to change when i move around the terminals though, but when go to crank over the engine it loses all power

i will get strong electric power it seems, fuel pump sounds normal, But then as you turn the key to start it the whole dash goes black, like no more power at all.

I'd redo the wiring and also check the ignition switch. I think one of your wires may be loose.
