k i just swapped a 97 sohc into my hatch. i had an injector code which i fixed (had the wire backwards by accident) and now i have NO codes.

the car will just keep cranking over and will give a little puff here and there but it wont fully fire and run.

ive checked my crank timing and tdc a million times its bang on. and ive advanced and retarded the dizzy and nothing happens.

checked for spark - yep.

what the expletive is wrong with it......... i was thinking main relay, but if it was that i dont believe the pump would prime and it wouldnt puff and try to fire at all...

anyone got any ideas for me??!?! i need my car running again!! my truck sucks poo on gas/

I had almost the same problem, my injectors were bad, it was a junk yard motor. Make sure the ign timing is where it needs to be also. Smell for fuel in the cylinders or take the plug wires off and crank a few times then look at the plugs. That is how i could tell on mine.

well i used the intake mani off the old motor that was in the car so it should be working.. and i got the engine off my buddy and it was his old stock motor from his ek.. so its in good shape.

edit - did you have a code at all for injectors?? (code 16)

wierd. i took the injectors out to check em and now i got code 16 (injectors) fuuuuuuuuuuck me.

Put them in and take the wires off and crank it once or so. Take the plugs out and see which ones are covered in gas and such.

You can check the resistance on the injectors also once you remove the pigtails from them.

Just get an ohmeter and make sure they are between 10 and 14 ohms.
