Default Car won't start!?

So i was driving my car(93 EG Hatch DX) just normal like every day and while driving the rpms dropped and the car shut off right away so i looked at the gas gauge and it showed Empty I thought i just ran out of gas so i added gas and ever since then i cant get it to start back up i have replaced the whole distributor, spark plugs and wires and still cant figure it out fuel pump is turning on and the main relay clicks so it seems that i am getting fuel because i can smell it I dont think I am getting spark. Need help! Fuses also looked fine.

how many miles on the motor and does it crank over faster then normal ?
if the timing belt broke their will be no spark or no start. easy thing to check is remove the oil cap and have some one crank it over and look at the rocker arm and see if it moves while the engine is been cranked over.
