i have a 97 delsol with jdm h22 and everytime im in the gas and let of suddenly it throws a cel but when i try to check it i cant read it cause the cel goes away if i turn the car off and then turn it back on. it has done this for a while with my old boosted motor and thought maybe it was something in the wiring because everything was fresh on the old motor and not i have a different harness and it still does this. i cant really figure it out but 1 time i did get a cell for 23 knock sensor and that make no sence since its obd1. please help me out cause its annoying the crap out of me. thanks

why dont u check the cel while the car is on and report back to us what it is.

check the radio/ backup 7.5 amp fuse under the hood. if it is blown then your car will clear the codes and that would explain why you cant read them.

I had this problem with my old car. It's most likely you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Run some new hose in and make sure all the connections are good and sealed.

What's the ECU? Are you sure that you are reading the code correctly? Might you have two codes -- code 20 and code 3?

A completely nonsense CEL code would seem to suggest a bad ECU.

ok well i was getting the wrong info about it not having a knock sensor and now i am told there is a knock sensor so the code makes sense now... oh and its a p13 ecu.

Check for an open or short in the wire running between the knock sensor and ECU. If the wire is fine, replace the knock sensor.
