car died on me last night....HELP please
i was driving home last night, and all of a sudden my car shut off on me, luckily there were not too many cars on the road last night, so i was able to glide myself into a shoulder, after that i had to call a tow truck and wait for the driver to come.
as i was waiting, i noticed that the power in my car was slowly starting to die down, starting w/my afcs, and lights. earlier today i was able to buy a new battery, and it was making a buzzing sound like it was about to start, but it didnt turn over,
im not sure if it would be the alternator or the starter, i have been told either one or the other, but please correct me if im wrong, if the alternator was bad, the power should not even be able to come on right? i also cleaned the terminals for the battery cables and tried banging on the starter, and it didnt do the trick either.
hopefully tommorrow, i can get this resolved, for the meantime im just going to have to wait. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Make sure your ground to the engine or your battery ground to the chassis didn't come loose. Could be a short running the battery down quickly.
