Car shut off while driving and no power....
My car shutted off on me while I was driving and I was getting no power. When I try to start it I can hear a click coming from the passenger side and a rapid clicking coming from the engine. The hazard light was really low when i turned it on. I had someone jump started it for me and it started back up. When i got home, I shutted the car off and now it won't start agian unless you jump it. Anyone know what's wrong?
thanks.

Battery is definitely bad. Alternator is most likely bad as well. The alternator should be able to provide sufficient power to run the car even with a bad battery.
If the starter was bad it would not start even when jumped.

The clicking indicates that the starter is good, but there is insufficient voltage to make it function. Replace battery and alternator and you're golden.
Also...shutted? Really? Shutted? Does it make sense when you say that out loud? Not shut, but shutted? Is that like a more extreme shut? I hate you a little bit.

Took my battery to autozone and they told me it was bad so they charged it for me. When I got home I putted the battery back on and it started back up like a champ.. but after driving it around for half an hour to test it out. It die on me agian I'm thinking it's the battery.

hey man it sounds like your alternator is not charging. That's why when you put a new battery in you can run the car for a while but as soon as the battery loses voltage the car will die. you can check to see if the alternator is charging by turning the car on and checking battery voltage. if you have 14.5 volts while car is running then alternator is working. if not check alternator fuse. if that fuse is good check ground and if ground is good then your alternator is bad.
