Cam holders
Does anyone know about replacing/getting new cam holders and plates? I sent my head to the shop to get worked on and it came back with neither of those. The guys are offering to pay, i just dont know where to get them from. I'm hearing that those two items, honda doesnt sell seperately becuase they are different for each engine. by that, is that meaning the series or each individual engine? Please help, got everything for the swap except for those. Thanks....

Re: Cam holders
Cam holders meaning the caps that hold the cams right? I think what you have been hearing is that they are specific to the individual head/engine they were installed on from the factory. If you can find another set in the junkyard, you can install them on the head, and then get them align honed so that the bore is straight. That should do it

Re: Cam holders
Just tell them it was $500 bucks from the honda dealer, and get a new head! Haha. Then sell the bare head and guts you still have. That would be cool!

Re: Cam holders
yeah it would be...lol! A thanks rickkane for the help and yeah the cam holders/plates. Vtechjunkie...i have stage 2 turbo skunk2 internals...just got the camshafts in and i doubt that they will pay that much, being that they are a reputable machine shop here in hawaii...pretty sure they know their stuff. would be nice though huh! but i think im going to the junkyard later and see what i can find. why didnt honda mass produce them like they do everything else. wierd to have internals that wont fit the same type of engine.
