calling all gurus! iacv knowlege needed..
Ok, let me get you to where i'm at. i bought my civic about a week ago. its orginally an ex model but now has a y7 in it. ( it has the right computer to run the y7) i'm trying to get all the codes gone and it running like a champ for scraping the coast. alright, so i completed the circut with a paperclip and its throwing codes 14, 54, and 63. 14 seemed to be the easiest fix. well due to some reseach on the computer i found that there are two different iacv sensors, y7 was a three wire and y8 was a two (correct?) the way it sat was idle pulsing at about 1500 and it would pulse to 1700. i ran the orange wire to the ecu (pin 13) that fixed the surge but made the idle really low, to the point of almost stalling.. well the thing is is that the code stayed after all that. is there something im missing? what else can i do to get rid of the code?
its a 97 btw...

im assuming this car has the y7 engine harness in it? you also have to switch the blue and black wire too. its in a different location. you need to look up 3 wire- 2 wire conversion and reverse the proceedure.

Bleed your coolant. Then use the paper clip trick like you checking codes and set idle with idle screw. Then reset ecu and let idle for 10 minutes iirc. Helped me get a solid idle with no surging.

yeh bleed coolant. reset ecu. let it idle and watch.
surging idle could be iacv. jeez, it's even called Idle air Control Valve. pretty simple sounding.
There's a faq around here somewhere how to take your iacv apart and clean it. i had a surging idle on a 96 honda odyssey van (f22b6 motor?) and after cleaning all the black and brown dirt, grease, and gunk from the iacv filter-screen-over-the-valve, it solved the problem.
find a faq with pictures how to take the iacv apart because the valve may be gunky inside the iacv. there's a faq here somewhere, find it.
