well long story short a need a smog and my car won't pass ek hatch with JDM b16A. sold old motor now i have to rebuy all that ****, here are the snags my wiring is all fucked and really cana't tell what the hell happen so rebuying engine harness from delar.

i am getting a d15y7 97 Lx motor and tranny

my ecu is for my 98 DX

and harness if not new I can get a 96 coupe 5 speed one

you're going to have just as much trouble with the 1.5 instead of getting a 1.6!

they looked at my ecu went i went to the ref to make sure it was for the same yr car and same motor.

So is there any way to get away with the smog check in Cali? I have a JDM ITR motor and kinda worry when smog comes (altho not until 2 yrs from now) , but I still worry about it a lot. Anyone knows any way to get away with it?

1. You can't pass a JDM motor unless you put all US spec emission items on the motor.
2. without a BAR sticker for the d15, you wont pass. you need to have a d16.
3. ECU must be USDM and must match motor year.

am i leaving anything out? you could always pay someone off for your smog, if you know people.

my B16A won't pass so was looking to get quick fix to my problem, so was thinking of buying a 97 lx motor 96 coupe wiring harness and i still have my stock ecu for my 98 hatch dx. hooking it all up and going to go smog it but if that is not going to then how else do you think i may try without rebuying all my orginal ****.

oh and not going the legal route I just need to smog this dam car but at any shop nothing run by state.

try to pay someone off but not sure if will work cause not don't they plug there machine into the ecu and get the information from the car that why, right now looking for a hatch like mines and switichin plates is my last resort and pay dude some money for his time. but anything will help
