Each vehicle has different limits. But all that matters is the size and year of the motor.

So to give you actual limits I need the motor numbers (ie. d16a6)and the year of said motor.

To register a RHD? I haven't went through it, bump for someone who has.

RHD is not legal in CA. It has nothing to do with smog. It has to do with the safety inspection which is seperate from smog here and is rarely enforced except upon imports because the cops hate them. And for good reason. Everyone hates ricers.

As for smog and the motor, you can't legally change any parts on the motor that are smog controlled unless they have a CARB number. You can look them up on the CARB website or ask the vendor if their part is 50 state SMOG legal. It's not about power or the engine's limits. Your motor could theoretically make 10k hp and they don't care as long as you're only using smog legal parts and pass the sniffer. There are even smog legal turbo kits that replace both manifolds.

as long as the motor your putting in is the same year or newer than the car its going into and all the emissions stuff has to be hooked up and no check engine light

From what I understand though the motor has to be a legal motor. SR20DET would be difficult since that motor technically never existed in the US.
