ok so i saw i had a break light out and bought new ones for all of them and before i put them in i turn the car off and go look at the back and my break lights are stuck on and my lights are off and my keys are in my hand and so i was like um wtf lol the only way i get them to turn off is if i take out the fuse or unplug the battery, so i unplug the battery and so i put in all my new bulbs and then i plug it all back up and before i even turn the car on wit the key in my hand they are still stuck on whats the issue?

this happend to my girlfriends EF ferio. he changed the brake light switch and that solved the BRAKE LIGHT STAYING ON EVEN WHN THE CAR IS OFF problem, it was a trip seeing the lights on when the car was off.

ya it is when i first saw it i look in my hand like 5 times making shur my keys where there and not in my ignition

if im not mistaken there should be a little rubber piece that is located in between your brake switch and pedal. check to make sure its there because if not then the button on the switch will always be released causing it to stay on.i might be wrong so go check

Yep. Its actually usually a white plastic thing that kinda looks like a cross between an interior clip and a shirt button.... this eventually happens to every one of them and the broken one is probably still laying on the floor somewhere. You can tape a nickel up there until you get to the dealer for a new one, its only a buck or two for the part.

as far as I know.... like i said though, if you just get a nickel or something else about the same thickness as the button you can tape it up there between the brake light switch and the pedal rod until you can get there.

I fixed mine with a nut and screw from what I remember. That tripped me out when it happened to me.
