Default bogging with a CEL

ok i dont know all the specifics so ill tell u what i know...
my friend is up at school so i cant check it out at the moment but he has a 99 si with a drag3 turbo kit ran fine for a few months of teh summer on the way upto school he got a CEL and it was slugish reset the ecu like it told him and it was fine now he went to drive it again for the first time i think and got it again.....how does one check the CEL on obd2 ecu? and what do u guys think it is i dont think the map sensor bypass stuff came out but who knows....any ideas would be helpfull

well i dont know if theres a diff. to how to read the codes between obd1 and obd2 but i have a obd1 and all i do is go under the passenger kick panel and there should be a blue plug with only 2 wires just jump that plug with some sort of gauge wire, and turn on the key to on position and the cel should flash

long flash = 10
shor flash = 1

and thats it. hope that helps

ok thanks ive never delt with OBD at all i have a non OBD ecu
