Blown Headgasket?
Ok, here is my story.
D16Z6 Block, D15B7 Head, D16Z6 Headgasket... oil is seeping form around head on the front driver side and i have smoke coming out the exhaust, vac lines and radiator...
I think its a bad head gasket... No milky looking oil.. no oil in coolant..

Re: Blown Headgasket?
crank case blow-by... sounds about right.. when i have the vacuum hose form the back of the block plugged up to the intake manifold the car pulls heavy vacuum and idle surges real bad.

Re: Blown Headgasket?
aight, so here is my update. i pulled the head off my block tonight and there is oil sittin on top of cyl 1 piston and a lil oil sitting on top of cyl 2 piston. cyl 1 vavles and spark plug is covered in oil. The motor also does in fact have a d16z6 head gasket which is wrong. It should be using a d15b7 head gasket. Now i am checking my valves to make sure i have no leak by there.

the top part or bottom?
If they didnt replace the plug seals on the valve cover, oil will get in the top of the plugs too.

^ um...I have a d15b7...and Im running a z6 headgasket that has over 100k miles on it, without any leaks.
Different perhaps, will it work though? I can attest to 100k miles. The z6 is a reco'd upgrade b/c the b7 headgasket was the weakest link in the motor.

Re: Blown Headgasket?
I'm not wrong, guys have been using Z6/Y8 head gaskets in D15B7/D15B8/D16A6 engines for years. It's possible whoever put the engine in used one for an '01 - '05 Civic (D17A1/D17A2) which may or may not be different.
