Blinkers are always on.
Ok guys. I have a huge problem....with wiring.
I did a gsr swap, and my blinker lights are always on when i have my lights on. (no blink just constant on) ive checked for fuses, bad grounds, fried wires.
any sugestions??
edit due to update:
1 took out alarm system
2 checked for frayed wires
3 checked all fuses (bay and kick panel)
4 checked grounds
5 bought myself a helms manual
upon further investigation i have found (helms) that i must be some how feeding power thru the intermediate signal back to the constant. How might i come to this conclusion? with the hazards on (lightswich off) my interior dash(ac/recycle air/cruise control/dome light) blink with hazards. HELL the license plate lights even flicker.
What do i do BOYS!

Those would be park lights, thats how they're supposed to work.

just swapped a friends and its fine.... its weird....if i pull them the back tail lights will go on.(fast) but when the corner lights are in (plugged in) no signal is possible with the light switch on the ON position because it looks like they are stuck in the on position.

I hope you figurHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA... Sorry.. but that sounds kinda funny. I hope you figure out what's wrong and hope that there aren't any bad shorts. My stupid car caught fire yesterday because of an overloaded headlight socket/wire.
Free bump for you.

thanks for the bump, ive got my helms manuals on that loom. looks like they are all some how connected.
funny thing... is ive taken out the harness looked at every stinkin wire and found no frays or splits on any wires...
I do have city lights spliced in to the parking lights and they blink too haha. they are on the friggen positive and negaitive wires tho. the black and red wire and the black wire.
CLIFFS:
with the light switch on all blinker/corner lights are on. with them off they work but make all the lights even the dome lights flash... = )

Hand signals and a flashlight?
Seriously, this doesn't make sense (duh - you knew that.) The only thing I could think of off the top of my head is grounds, but you said you checked that. Practically, though, that's the only thing that makes sense - that's the only place that most of those systems cross over. Double check the grounds....then double-check them again....
The flashing is the part that makes the least sense for me. The only way that could occur is, assuming the flasher circuit has a good ground and everything else is bad, then when the flasher relay connects, it allows the rest of the lighting system to ground through it.
There's an old saying in the aircraft mechanic biz -
The three causes of any electrical failure - power, ground, and last mechanic.
You got one of the three, that's for sure.

ok....i see 2 grounds by either side of the headlights, 1 ground by the fuse box (left kick panel) in the car and 1 ground on the upper rear shelf (center). so a total of 4 grounds on the harness.
let me make 1 more wierd announcment. u know the constant ring when you have the lights on and keys out of ignition with the door open... well with the hazards on, door open and key out it flashes but makes my buzzer go off to...
WTB a fix-a-wire.
and power is surging on the on the constant power side to the flashers.

UPDATE: FAIL......cant figure it out. ill be bring it to a mechanic....cant believe that i got the swap to go in and it friggen runs but....these light are killing me!!!
UPDATE2: after spending a while in the dash i removed the alpine alarm i had and still to no avail i do not have an answer.... . what im thinking is there has to be some short thats feeding the intermediate signal back to the constant in the whole system. EXAMPLE if i screw with the blue plug in the engine bay left side i can get it to flash hazards with the dash light switch on.

Dude - wish I had an idea for you.
The only suggestion I would have is what I call the "general spark chase." In other words, one at a time, pull the connectors on each wire segment and check continuity end to end and then from end to ground. Then if that doesn't work, do a hand-over-hand examination (sucks bad.)
There's gotta be something!

you have to have a short to voltage. the wires that connect the lights your having trouble with trace them and see if anywhere in the circuit they are stuck together with a crossing wire. the only way its on is if it has voltage meaning it has to be crossed with another wire that is supplying it voltage. look for maybe burned mires that basically soldered themselves together.. hope that helps
