bitch pin*****
i went to get the shift linkage for my 5 speed swap today....i had to twist and break off one of the linkages becuase of that pin....how the **** do u remove it? damn.

so it does just punh out? it doesnt matter from wich end i do this? and also i plan on buying a new one. does it have to be pressed in...or can i just hammer in the new one? thanks....and yes the name "bitch" is an understatment.

you know were it has 2 10mm bolts were the shifter end bolts up to the underside of the car? are the threads there for those 2 10mm bolts on my auto? or do i have to drill and tap? i have almost everything for my swap except the 5 speed starter and brake pedal......then im on my way.

Yes punch it out from either end, and when reinstalling just hammer it back in. I'm to the point now where I just leave the linikage on the tranny if I drop it for some reason. IMO its easier to take off a couple of exhaust hangers.

Not sure if they're there or not, check underneath your car :shrugs: but they're 12 mm's not 10's

yea i ment 12....i was thinking 10 becuase of the brakec pedal...anyway thanks for the help guys. i hope this swap gos off with little problems. i have red up on it so much and have been collecting the swap parts over a period of 5 months. i got a tranny from a dx with 70k miles...(hope a dx tranny is fine) i have a 93 ex coupe with d16z6.

This is the best place to find information on Honda swap oriented stuff. Keep searching the archives there is alot of very useful info in there. DX tranny will work fine but I believe the gears are a little longer than the EX. Anyway good luck with the conversion

thanks man....yea i have red everything in here about the swap and bookmarked it all.....lol. damn i didnt know the dx tranny gears were longer....that sucks. i may start searching for a ex or si tranny now. thanks for the info.
