Cheaper, no, plus its RWD... have fun spending 10g's trying to get it into your car.... B18c5 is the best choice you have, IMO

I think you should do some research before doing so.

look for a 99 and up gsr or type r motor u will love it over the b16. i had a type r motor and blew it and had to get a b16 fora quick replacement and am currently rebuilding another b18c1 block so u know how unhappy i am with the b16.

since your car is heavier than a ctr, i would stay away from the b16b. it will feel just like the b16a, only a little stronger in the top end. go 1.8 or bigger.

i dont know why so many people love the civic type r b16b motor..... for the amount of money you could almost get a teg b18cr motor. its worth it to pay a tid bit extra for the power and torque of teh teg type r motor. the b16b ir way over rated IMO i mean it does have a really high redline but whats that gonna do for ya when someone with a teg type r motor pulls up next to ya and uses his torque to ****** u off the line and stay ahead with the extra power....

well a b16b is basicly a mildly built b16a with a better R/S ratio. it will fit and of coarse it will be faster, but not my much. i would however recomend getting the b16b and putting a gsr crank and rods in there with the ctr piston you will already have. about 11.7 CR and you still got the kickass tranny and head. then it will be fast.
plus its a nice sleaper. block will still say b16b

The last time I checked, you don't get a B16B to go drag racing.

Thats what I want to know. Is the block shot? Is the head ok? I wish I was you and could go around buying new motors everytime I blew one.
Next time don't redline in every gear.

actually, i basiclly have this setup, except i have a milled head and i yield 12.0:1. so a non milled head would be less.

Re: best motor swap for 2000 si. (civic-si-2000)
the f20c spins clockwise. if you put it to a b series tranny if you could you would have 5 reverse gears and 1 forward gear. correct me if i am wrong. if you do the f20c you will need an rsx tranny?

Re: best motor swap for 2000 si. (fowler)
rebuild your motor unless you can get a 2000 gsr motor which will cost you an arm and a leg if the vin is clean. anything earlier than when your car was made and that **** will not pass smog homie.
