Best header for top end flow???
ok, before you shout at me i searched but wasnt very successful.
i know 4-1 are good for top end, but is the jdm dc 4-1 any different than the jdm itr header? i heard the primaries are bigger, or smoother, or something.
i have a b16 right now with itr cams so if you can recommend anything i would greatly appreciate it.

DC is better, the welds on the primaries are on the outside, instead of the inside like the ITR. 300 sounds steep for ceramic coated, but that's a good price for stainless.

search for great header test or something of the sort...it will give you dynos for a bunch of popular headers.....they are all pretty close but the jdm dc and the jdm itr are best bang for the buck ...hope this helps

Re: Best header for top end flow??? (fowler)
since u live in calif. u may look for a CARB. appoved header...if CHP makes u pop the hood its always nice to have those stickers and plates all over the place..ive heard around that u can smog easier with the stainless too..since ceramic helps cool s the exhaust flow its harder for the cat. to clean up emmisions

Re: Best header for top end flow??? (allmtr)
If you plan on doing some serious modding to your motor then save up for a Hytech header, both low and top end gains. If not, a DC Sports JDM 4-1 will be just fine. I'm know it has a 2.5 inch collector, but I dont know the size of an OEM Type R header is.
I'd pick stainless over ceramic because ceramic is known for cracking over a period of time.

Re: Best header for top end flow??? (allmtr)
It is rumored that the dc 4-1 header w/ 2.5 collector on certain motors actually lost power (ITR I think) when dynoed. (This test was done by skeptical enthusiasts unlike the so called experts at : superstreet/ sportcompact and /importuner magazines. Their legitimacy of these dynos are compromised by the fact that the product manufacturers are also sponsors for the mags.! ) . And Also w/ the Jdm Itr header a gain of a few good ponies was noted! This was brought to my attention through a Highly knowledgeable, and successfull businessman who is know well here on Hondatech!
