I say get a 92-95 dx model... they are alot lighter then the 6gen coupes... Do you plan on keeping the stock motor?

There's too much to list, but i'll give you a GENERAL idea to get started. Use the search button after this!
Si = 'best' civic coupe... comes with b16a2 dohc vtec motor 160hp (at flywheel) only available in 99-00
Ex = next to "best"... comes with a d16y8 sohc vtec motor w/ 127hp (at flywheel) available 96-00
Hx/Lx/Dx = 'worst' civic to deal with. comes with d16y7 sohc non-vtec motor with 107 hp or something like that. available 96-00.

thirsty eh? it just might be, once engaged... However, thats at like 5000rpm, and you can stay below that easily.... so I would say no it probably does not drink more than a non vtec normally... but I do not know, just my noobi knowledge to this date... depend on someone more knowledgable.

vtec does use more gas and oil but what car wont under wot? as far as an induction if u want to go that way go turbo. but with the cost of installing and buying and maintainin and tuning it properly u could have a na eg hybrid that would prob be more reliable and cheaper.

Re: Best civic coupe? (egcoupe)
I only have one problem with this statement:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by vsm98civic »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Si = 'best' civic coupe... comes with b16a2 dohc vtec motor 160hp (at flywheel) only available in 99-00

Hx/Lx/Dx = 'worst' civic to deal with. comes with d16y7 sohc non-vtec motor with 107 hp or something like that. available 96-00.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The Hx comes with the e-vtec (I think is what it is called), and it is a little more efficient than the other motors when it comes to gas.
As far as which to get, it kinda depends on what you plan on doing to the car and the kind of technical knowledge you have. If you plan on going f/i, you may as well get one of the lower models and swap in a better motor. That way, you can get a less expensive car and generally get a lower insurance rate. You will have to shop around to find the best deal though.

First off figure out what your plans for the car are. Second How much you want to spend. Then get back to us.

Re: (revolution8k)
get an si nicest package to start of with, or u can get a lower model and have to every thing motor, brakes, misc. interior pieces.J/P
The best bang would be an si intially, but in the long run the $12000-$15000 or less you spend would make a really nice hybrid, if you wanna call it that. My boy has a 94 coupe that was missing alot and received alot of work. But now has an jdm b16a2 i/h/e and other some ****. yeah its older and I get more looks but his car kicks my ***. It all depends what your after daily driver, or race I plan on having both..........maybe

Re: (Dstretch33)
I got a 97 HX for 1,300 with 150,000 Miles on it like not even 2 months ago. Best deal ever I think and its got just about as much features as the ex. The only bad thing I can think about is the ugly orange on the taillights . BUT it has been a really reliable car so far

Re: (Dstretch33)
i'm in the u.k so will the derivitive names be the same here? I want a daily driver no super toys! i guess i'll go for an ex (or the u.k equivalent) and just put a better filter on it and maybe get it chipped? i think i can pick a half decent one up for about £2,500 ( i guess thats about $4000 u.s?)
