Default battery question...

lately my car has been taking longer to start. i first thought the coil was going out (i went through 3 coils on my last integra so go figure i'd think of that) but it starts really fast if it hasnt been off for long, if it was the coil it'd take just as long all the time.

then i thought alternator (had to replace alternator on the last car too) just wasnt charging the battery very well but theres an engine swap with 50k and the headlights dont dim or anything (last car the headlights would dim while driving when its alternator was going out)

so is it just my battery is old and cant hold charge as well anymore? i dunno, i've never had a car for more than a year so i've never had to replace a battery and i dont know exactly what the symptoms would be

does the starter turn slower than normal?you can take the car to any auto parts store and they can check the charging system.
many possibilties-could be your car needs a tune-up.

car has new o2 sensor, spark plugs, wires, cat convertor, ran 2 tanks with chevron full fuel system cleaner

starter turns the same, just takes a few more "chugs" than normal

doesnt seem like it would be that though because if i just run into the store and come out it starts in half a second, the only time it takes long is if ifs been sitting all night or when i go out after a full day at work
