Default Electrical Issues

I started to have problems about two weeks ago where my car seems to be having some electrical issues. First off, when I turn on my headlights my idle gets rough and it fluctuates a bit. Every time I go to start my car its seems like the starter is barely getting power to start the car. Almost feels like a toy car running out of battery. I am thinking about buying a new battery but I have a feeling it may be the alternator, where the car is not getting a sufficient charge. Inputs?

could be both... take them to your local parts store and have them tested.

when the car is idling check the voltage at your battery, there should be approx. 14v. if not then most likely it's your alternator. and if your alternator is bad then 99% of the time your battery is bad becuase it's not charging the battery when the car is running. get them both checked out.
