Week ago I was foolishly competing in a sound battle with my stock sound system and this other cars in my 01 gsr. Later that day i was again listening to my cd w/o the engine on like an idiot, and guess what my batt died, still clicked but wouldnt start. Today i barely left the car off while running my sound and headlights to ask for directions, and my car wouldnt start. Should i get a new battery, have my alternator checked or what?

 

Most likely its the battery, unless your alternator isn't working when you run the car. Battery shouldn't take long to recharge when they're in the car, usually takes about 15 minutes I believe, correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I would say check the alternator and change the battery. But thats just me.

if your battery is dead, and your running your system and headlights on, then its going to take alot longer than 15 minutes to fully charge it. it takes more like 35-40 minutes to fully charge it.

take it to a shop, have them do a load test on the battery. they can also test your alternator, but from what it sounds like its just your battery since you keep using your system with the car off.
