BAR sticker with b20?
Anybody have a BAR sticker for there b20? How do you guys pass smog here in california? With LSVTEC and turbos? I have a smog check coming up VERY SOON....and am very concerned about having a b20. Can somebody post pics of all the emission crap, and stuff that I need out of the engine bay? Im kind of in a bind and need help ASAP!! Thnx in advance

I remember seeing a post here saying that you cant get your bar sticker with a b20 just because its from a suv and you are putting it into a car. but i dont know how reliable a source some people are here.

Talk to rszero1. He e-mailed the referee, whom then took that e-mail to his superiors and the final result was: b20 will not pass

i was trying to find it on the CARB website but i couldnt, but i remember it saying that motor swaps are legal only if they're the same year or newer and of the same type of vehicle.(SUV, passenger type, etc.) sorry man, its not legal at all.

That is completely 100% true! I just received my BAR sticker yesterday, and I spoke with the ref about various swaps, and he said that B20 and LS/VTECT guys come rolling through all the time, and that they will NEVER pass. HE SAID THERE IS NO "FRANKENSTEINING" motors.

I really wanted my car ALL legal. You know the infamous BAR sticker. I know about the "OTHER" way, but I would just like to go to any smog testing center and not pay up the ***(well since the registration is going up) twice as much. Anybody wanna trade me or buy my engine? I have a thread in the classifieds........ *sigh*

Well, if you only have to get it smogged and you don't have to go to a test-only(referee) station, you can press your luck and see if they won't notice it and just get it smogged for your registration. But if you do intend to get it BAR'd, it's not gonna happen, at least with that motor.

yeah, Ive decided to just tough it out. Screw selling it. If Im lucky, that dude I talked to said the smog refs MIGHT pass it off as an LS and I can go scotch free
