Default bad wheel bearing after new wheels?

i put some si wheels on my car (replaced the stock 14 inch steelies) now it sounds like i have a bad wheel bearing in the rear.. its a whoom whoom whoom sound when im driving. kind of goes away depend on the smoothness of the road and comes and goes from different speeds. this didnt happen when i had my stock wheels on though. could this be that the wheels need to be rebalanced? or mabe a problem with the tires? ive had kosei k1s, and wedssport sa90's on my car and none of them made this sound. i dont understand how my car is now making this wierd sound after putting on thease si wheels though.. any ideas?

thanks

What condition are the tires? If the noise wasn't there before, it's almost certainly a tire problem.

the tires in the rear are directional fedral super steeles. the fronts are ziex all seaon tires or somthing. tires all have good tread.

Rotate the tires front to back and see if anything changes.

Sounds like you've got irregular wear on the rear tyres. Like seanbev24 says; put the fronts on the rear and vice versa and see if the noise moves. If so, get the wheel alignment done, and make sure they do all 4 wheels. I had the same issue just this week, and the garage tried to mug me off with just aligning the fronts. Using the mis-aligned rear as a reference point would've just messed it up!
I now have the irregularly worn rears on the front. They still make a noise but i'll hopefully destroy them within a few weeks and get some new tyres, then noise gone :-)

Could just be bad tires, not necessarily worn. Tires can be cupped or eccentric too. Jack up your car and visually check the tires, spin them by hand and feel the tread for cupping.

well, this morning i drove around and got to listen to it better. sounds like it was coming from drivers side rear. so i swapped both rear wheels to the front. the problem followed the wheel only now the noise has some what changed... took it to discount tire, they took the wheels and checked them out, rebalanced them.. they didnt notice anything unusual. just a noisey tire i guess
