hi
i have a couple of question for user and guru
1:
which is the best streetable tranny for my b20z (fuel saver/performance )

which is the best manifold for best performance
b18c5 (type R) manifold <---- oem
DC headers for (b18b)
3:
which is the best size for exaust
2 .1/4 inch
2.5 inch
4:
wich is the best for a sri (short ram intake)
type R aem sri
LS fujita sri
5:
for ecu chipping
p75 whit b20 basemap
is ok or i need dyno tuning for safety

Get any b-series transmission. Maybe the Gsr/type R/B16 tranny.
2:

I'd go with the Type R exhaust manifold, it'll last because it's oem, and it's known to make improvements.
3:

Those options are only 1/4" difference. Who cares?

Get the cheapest piece of pipe you can find, this is not important.

Get the ECU that is meant for this engine (unless you plan on tearing it apart for a build.)

Run the LS tranny and a LS ECU. The B20 has alot of torque and pulls the longer gears very well. I have the higher compression Honda Orthia version B20B....I think 9.4 or 9.6:1. It's the one that comes with a LS style intake already on it, not the big tall Giraffe intake.
I see about 30-33 mpg mixed driving, run regular AM-PM unleaded, and can give most B16A swaps a good run even with my heavy sedan. My engine is all stock except for a ~12# ITR flywheel.
If you do get an actual high compression B20Z, you'll want to tune the ECU. The stock one for that engine it obd-2b iirc

i agree with the ls. it has long gears that the b20 is gonna respond greatly with. the b16 gears are so short that the b20 wont have any room to roar!
i disagree with the am-pm gas though...bad quality. its about fred meyer haha its just as cheap but good quality. or shell. its more expensive but the engine loves it

Btw AM-PM/Arco/BP, and Chevron/Shell/Conoco are the only 2 suppliers of Gasoline in our area, and shell was the one that had some goop in their gas that plugged everyones injectors awhile ago. My buddy works at the BP refinery and says it's all the same gas. Only difference is some has ethanol some doesn't, and chevron add's the techron cleaning additive. $3 a tank extra isn't worth it for me, I just add a can of injector cleaner once a year and don't have any issues. If you're running a real high-compression engine and racing or something, spend the extra $$$ on some premium shell gas, my bike likes it but the B20 could care less.

Stick with the stock b20Z intake mani. and do a custom cold air intake into the fender. I ended up with a GSR tranny but I kinda wish i had an LS so I wouldn't be shifting so much. The torque really is always there, pulls from 2000-6000 without ever letting up. I got an LS ECU and Hondata s300(for turbo later), but you should be fine with a stock LS (go OBD1 conversion to avoid the OBDII-B clusterf**k). The 4-2-1 stainless ebay header worked okay after some lapping, and I did a 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" test pipe/resonator thingie with a full 2 1/2" exhaust from the muffler shop. In retrospect 2 1/4" would have been plenty; I'm at about 180 BHP and 2 1/2" is probably a little big for that number. Would rather have more torque and less noise afforded by a narrower exhaust.
