b20 head on ls block

b20 head on ls block
will the b20 head bolt straight up 2 the ls block and will there be any complications. Would it not be wise. How would it handle when its boosted.

Re: b20 head on ls block
well,
the good:
It will bolt right up, just a small drop in compression.
the bad:
unless its the P8R head, it has terrible flow. This is why people bolt up a Vtec head.
As for being boosted, if you plan to rev over 8k with vtec, then you need ARP rod bolts. If your wanting to keep the b20 head, then only rev to 7-7500 with stock valvetrain

the B20 block is used with the smaller heads for torque. i've never heard or seen someone use say a ls block and b20 head.

The "b20" head is a p75, exactly the same head as an LS. The p8r has 84mm combustion chambers (47cc as opposed to the p75's 45cc), which will lower your compression.
The p8r also has wider intake ports and 33mm intake valves.
But the will both bolt up.

Re: b20 head on ls block
I have an LS block I'm working on building and still need a head. I've yet to see any LS heads on craigslist local to me, but saw a complete B20 head for $100. I'm doing an LS turbo build, and I'm planning on spending the money on head work rather than VTEC. I'm not going for crazy HP, 300 is my goal and it will be my daily driver. From what I've seen here, it looks like I found the head for my build!
