B18B1 swap into 99 EX questions...
Alright i've read back and forth a hundred times and am just confused in terms of wiring up this engine.
I am going to put an OBD1 B18B1 into my 99 EX which is OBD2B
I would like to run the OBD1 P75 ecu and here are my questions:
1. All I need is an OBD2b-->OBD1 jumper harness to use the ecu?
2. How can I pass emissions? I know I need an obd2b ecu in the car to be able to hook up to the machine and pass, so what can I do here when it's time to pass emissions?
3. There is a ton of information on wiring up VTEC and additional sensors for swaps, but what do I do with my d16y8 harness since i'm putting a non-vtec engine in?
I'm sure i'll have other questions, but any help/tips would be greatly appreciated

To start, you won't pass emissions for AT LEAST 2 reasons. The engine that you're installing is older than the car, and you won't pass an OBD scan with an OBD1 ECU.
Find out your state's policy on emissions testing. Some places subject you to a sniffer test if your ECU can't communicate with their testing equipment.
Once, you get the OBD2>1 conversion harness, the swap should be plug and play. Don't worry about the extra wires in your harness, as the ECU that you'll be using won't look for those sensors anyways.

exactly i don't even live in cali. and i have heard of this you can't put an older motor in a newer year chassis so if your car is a 99 and you are putting in a 94 motor they will give you shh all the time. as far as the swap you need a 0bd2 ls dizzy your ex injectors and b series T bracket and front stabilizer bushings and i think a si driverside motormount bracket.

The place I get emissions done has never popped my hood to check the motor...all they have ever done is hook up to the ecu, then let me drive away...so is there any way to pass emissions by putting another ecu in there?
What are the b series t-bracket and stabilizer bushings for?

Ok i've done a little more research and apparently all I need to do is put on an obd2 distributor, use my obd2 injectors from my d16y8, get an obd2 oil pump for the ckp sensor i believe, and obviously an obd2 P75 ecu...and then it should be able to pass emissions
is that correct?
Also, what axles do I need for the swap? The b18b1 is going into a 99ex with a b16 tranny

not sure on what is swappable for obd2 and obd1 set ups, but for the axles any from a b-series tranny will work.
