B18b swap axle questions, help asap!
The passenger side axle has this metal ring around the end of it preventing it from going into the tranny all the way. Is this metal ring necessary or can i take it off? I don't want it to mess up when I try to drive it I want to do it right the first time.

that metal ring about 1/8" from the end of the axle??
that is a clip.. and it holds the axle in the diff while you cruise down the road.

Yes you need it holds the axle in to the tranny. It will not stop the axle from going in. First slide axle into tranny. After it is in screw on the axle bolt. Do not put the axle in the hub. Make sure the screw is flush with the end of the axle and give it a few good wacks with a hammer it should pop right in

you shouldnt need a hammer next time put the tranny in neutral first then push on the metal drum looking part as close to the tranny as possible. ive pushed shafts back in on the side of the road with everything intact when i had a short axle from vatozone.
