Default B18B Power

So I found a few B18B's. What is the different's between the auto and manual, Is there a different's in the motor or wireing? How do you tell what year the motor is?
Thanks.....Erik

i think that is a bullshit statement if you made 600 hp b18b i would rather have an auto if it was a 200 hp b18b i would rather have a stick...now tell me why im wrong because you know im not...i dont like autos but dont put them down their are some plus when you really start racing them. And i know honda trannys kinda suck but you can rebuild them alot stronger now.

I second that motion. If auto was so good, why doesnt everyone else do it? I have some friends that have 650+ hp cars and none of them would ever go auto. If you told them that they would just laugh. I think that only when youre pushing really high amounts of hp, you should then begin to consider that. Either way, stick would still be a better option. Maybe you've never driven a car with high hp, its alot of fun, but takes alot of practice.

the reason i said that is because auto cant hold the power (at least on hondas that is)

i know this is a stupid remark but have you ever noticed that professional drag racers use autos??? autos are better if they were just strong enough cause you cant lose time in between shifts. if you run an auto tranny get a dragonfire torque convertor...super street and sport compact both said that it would keep up with any manual with the same upgrades....

I know with auto B16's I've worked on, the cams were smaller than manual. If the head is original to that particular motor, just take a look at the stamp on the head right above the exhaust manifold flange, that tells you the year.
