Default b18a1 swap in my eg..now cant rev passed 3k while driving

Recently swapped a b18a1 into my eg and getting weird problems. In neutral,I can rev it to any rpm. While in gear and driving,it sputters around 3k and got no power.Feels kind of like a missfire.Would bad plugs cause a missfire only during driving and not in neutral?

check your fuel pressure. it might be getting the hiccups.

There's no engine load in neutral so it's not the same as revving up while driving.

Misfires could be many things. My engine never missed unless the engine had a load on it. My problem ended up being my spark plug wires.

tune up sounds like a great idea... plugs go bad get clogged dirty whatever i would check those first, check yoiur filters ( air and fuel) and then the other stuff wires, rotor, that kinda stuff

I'm surprised nobody brought up the obvious: Your car is in limp mode. If you aren't throwing codes, you have a bad ECU. The exact same thing happened to be after my B18 swap. I suggest picking up a cheap PR4 ECU and trying it.

its most likely your dizzy, plugs, wires. I would just switch it out for known good ones.

since people here dont read worth a ****. im gonna point out the obvious....

youre running a vtec ecu on a non vtec engine....

swap it out. or get it socketed and disable vtec and the other things that need to be done.

I can do this for you or you can swap me ecus and ill send you a true LS ecu.

edit... sorry. johnnywash can read.

the vtec ecu running a non-vtec motor would have nothing to do with it...plus i changed my wires and it solved the problem.thanks guys
