B16A2 Race car
Hi, im new in this Civic forum, but not new in Honda Tech.
I used to have a JDM DC2R 96 Spec. Just sold it and bought a EK4 with B16A2.
I did this because im planning to go professional racing.
I need to increase compression ratio up to 11 max. If im not wrong, this B16 has 10.2.
So im planning to change to B16B pistons. I know this topic has been repeated many times, but, since im new to B16A, i need to be 100% sure.
What do you guys think? Any mods to the head? we are planning to use there B16B pistons with OEM head gasket. Is it ok? just change pistons and thats it?
I need to win these Toyota 4AGE 20V!!!!
Thanks!

Re: B16A2 Race car
if you up compression ratio you will need to get the car tuned as well, but why stop there? you can port and polish the head, valves/springs/retainers/cams, especially if you are going racing, you aren't going to want the motor falling apart or not running right.
My only question, if you had a 96 spec R why did you SELL it to pick up an ek4 for track purposes?

Re: B16A2 Race car
Nope, i sold my DC2 before I decided to go to professional racing.
The problem is that regulations for B16A wont let change cams, intake manifold, throttle body, just increase compression and head work. So i guessed, it would be better to change to B16B pistons than just changing head gasket. So if i change to B16B pistons, i can use my OEM B16A head and gasket?
