B16a vtec not engaging, need other ideas as to why?
Hey H-T. So my vtec has just stopped working all together. I don't here it crack at 5500. I have correct oil levels, and I'm throwing code 11 which has to do with the IAT sensor. When I think back, it stopped working after I unplugged the sensor from the thermostat so I could wire the radiator fan to a switch. Could this be the culprit? That's the only other thing I could think of. My speedo works, same with the RPM's. Any input would be appreciated!

So if I understand this right, you started throwing a code, after you bypassed the IAT to wire the fan to a switch and then VTEC stopped working. And you're wondering if that's the problem? I think you answered your own question.

Sorry for not being clear. I haven't done anything to the IAT sensor. I unplugged the fan switch and made it to where the radiator fan would run whenever I switched it on.

I just checked, the oil is actually over the second dot by like 1/2 inch.

I did that and it was fine. Could it be the vtec solenoid itself?

If it was your vtec solenoid it would have thrown code 21 or 22 for pressure switch,
Double check the wireing.
Double check the wireing.
