type r are 30 percent lighter and i believe they have weaker springs. But i know the valves are lighter.

typr r have dual layer springs i think. i know the type r heads valves enter the combustion chambers at different angles than B16 and GSR.

b16 and itr heads are the same so the valve angles are the same. i do believe they differ from a gsr though. and itr intake valves are necked to reduce weight.

All (or most) DOHC VTEC motors have double wound intake springs and single wound exhaust springs, except for the type r series motors which have double wound springs on both intake and exhaust valves. There may be some exceptions to this rule.
