Type R/b16 valves cotters retainers combo?
Ok heres the deal, I have a b16 head Im about to build. I have type r dual valve springs and retainers that came with this pr3 head. I plan on getting either cheaper or more expensive aftermarket valves and have a machine shop do a valve job and put the valves in there. I have a different b16 head on my car (it runs) which I will be using stuff off of to complete my new head.
My questions concerns the lil things that hold in the valves (valve cotters). Are the b16 valve cotters different than the type r? or will they have problems running with the type r retainers? I read somewhere that said the type r valves are skinner (12% less weight) than the b16 valves and I assume that might create a BIG problem.
I have 11 sets of these lil fuc ers that came with my new head. I can buy b16 valve cotters for $1.82/piece and I need 7 sets or 14 of them. Im willing to spend 30 bucks on this so I can use my car until after the head has been to the machine shop.
Any suggestion?

Re: Type R/b16 valves cotters retainers combo?
After searching through part numbers I believe them to be the same #14781-PR7-A01. I dont know If thats an official number or just on the site, but I found them on two different sites so... It also says the exhaust valves are the same but the intake are different and the retainers are the same.
Maybe "that guy" was full of ****, still would like some confirmation though.
