Sounds like you may have a low idle problem.

Have you cleaned the IACV? Have you replaced the PCV valve? Have you tried to adjust the idle speed?

Okay...I'm having a similar problem. I've been trying to solve it for a while now. I have a b16a in a 98 civic hatch. My CEL came on for the IACV (14), which I replaced (brand new).

The CEL came back on the other day and my car is still having idling issues and when I sit at a stop light, the idle drops down to about 100 but the car doesn't die. It also sputters when driving at a sustained speed, like on the freeway. The code is still 14 which doesn't make sense because the IACV is brand new.

Any ideas?? Any help is greatly appreciated. I've been dealing with this problem on and off for a while now and it's driving me crazy.
