B-series VTEC swap for ej civic
What is the best VTEC swap for a ej1 civic? Was looking at a B18A1 but it is non-vtec. What combo would be the best and most affordable swap from a D16Z6?

define your budget as said and we'll go from there. affordable for some is a k20 while some find a b16 expensive.
kay that took to long to type. your going to be quite limited with a 3k limit.
shop locally to try and find stuff cheaper. otherwise h22a. and turbo. done.

LS VTEC.
1. Get the B18 A1 for dirt cheap.
2. Get a B16 or B18 head off of c-list for less than 300$
3. Buy the LS vtec kit.
4. ?????
5. Profit.
Otherwise just do a B16. Friend just scored a complete longblock for 300$.
Don't half *** anything on the isntall or you'll regret it. Change ll the wearables (e.g. timing belt water pump belts hoses etc.), it'll cost you a couple hundred just for that but it can and will save you money and time later.
Also, I hate being one of the people advocating it because some get quite irate about it but . . . you would be amazed what you can learn in less than 5 minutes of searching on here. Your google-fu is weak my son.
If you wanna do work and get **** done, H2B. 'Nuff said.

The build is only as reliable as you build it to be. In stock configuration all of the B-D-H-F-J series are all pretty damn reliable. Sit and wait and save and snipe good deals on craigslist. Don't just buy anythinhg because it's there, wait for a price drop or a deal. Take care of your can and it will do the same for you.
