B series headers
Prolly an easy question but will b18, b16 headers work on a d16? and the EK models any easy way to fool the second O2 sensor? Sorry if this has been asked i searched a bit through the FAQ's but didn't see anything (absolutly my fault i'm sure of it)

Re: B series headers
you can't swap parts outside of a series.... B series goes with B series and D series go with D series. you can't put B16 head on a D16 or an H22 on a B18.
why do you need to "fool the 2nd o2?

Re: B series headers
Alright i heard at one point which i was mistaken about teh B series head on D block was a long time ago and i am a total civic noob with terms and possibilities until i read alot more i'm sure
was thinking about putting headers on the car and the Cat is right off the manifold so other than get another cat to go under the car where it should be it might be easier to fool it to avoid CEL no?

Re: B series headers
what engine are you working with? what year is your car? do you have smog laws?
you should have 2 cats if one is actually on the manifold and one at the bottom of the manifold. if you have 2 O2 sensors then one is for a/f ratio and the 2nd one is the efficiency of the cat.
replace the exhaust manifold with a header (not headers you just have one) plug the O2 sensor into the header... if there isn't a spot then you need to fabricate one yourself or take it to a mufflershop and they can do it for you.
if you don't have 2 cats, then get an aftermarket one and have a muffler shop place it between the exhaust system and the header.

Re: B series headers
D16y7 i believe i just picked this up yesterday and i am doing research on it it is a 97 Civic Hatch and yes in NY you cannot pass NYSI with a CEL on in a OBD2 vehicle both sensors are on the front of the engine one before the cat (A/F) and only an air/fuel if it is wideband and reads with a 1-5V least that is the way it is with toyotas scale and the second one O2 below the cat also very visible from the front of the engine

Re: B series headers
i suppose it's a force of habit used to hear headers all the time with the old guys talking about the v8's there i suppose you would always have 2
