axles broken with unsprung clutch
i got the action six puck unsprung clutch with my fidanza light weight flywheel. it's in a hatch with gsr swap b16 tranny. broke my passenger side axles today badly, a part of the axles was inside the tranny and i had to hit it from the other side so it'll come out. any chances of me even lasting 3 runs at the track?

Re: axles broken with unsprung clutch (lilo_goki)
dont launch so high and you wont snaps axle with that setup depending on tires 3500 rpms is plenty for launch

well i wasn't even launching, that was the problem, i just shifted from first to second and it axles snap. before, the axles was leaking anyways from the boot, so i think that's the problem. if i don't launch higher than 3500, i will bog out, i'm using bfgoodrich drag radials, i usuall lauch at 7k with my b16 and below 7k it will bog out.

Start by not dropping the clutch during the launch...if you are that is. Sometimes an axle will break because it popped out. Make sure they're in there all the way. GL!

Re: (hybridmath)
Its not the clutch breaking the axle its either A. Engine alignment or B. Driver error. Ease off the clutch between shifts, dont just drop it. 7k is fine launching as long as your doing it right.

Re: (Luserkid)
i launch on slicks anywhere between 5.5-7k with stock axles. if you are sheering them off at the transmission im gonna say that youre dropping the clutch from 7k and not preloading the transmission.

puck disk aren't difficult to drive, they just don't last on daily drivers. there's no life to them. mine wore down so fast, it was pulled out after 10k miles. + the rivets ate my flywheel up. thats why clutch companys label their kits as "street" or "strip" applications. there aren't talking about driveability. it's all about the clamping force from the pressure plate.

i have the action 2md unsprung 6 puck clutch as well

i daily drive 80+ miles per day and is about a year old so...
i did break an axle however it was old and clicking before the clutch install.
it didn't last long after this clutch install tho

Re: (slambedcivic)
never said that they were
i don't drive my car like it's on a track but i do beat the **** out of it
and the only reason i mentioned that in the first place is all the comments about them not lasting in a DD situation
ok so OP:
what's the deal are they breaking or falling out?

Re: (95jeremie)
im pretty sure he was referring to things on the track. i may be wrong. but ive never seen anyone launch on the street and bog out just under 7k rpms. lol.
at any rate, i now see that there are 2 threads by him/her. hopefully they get this resolved

my axles keeps on popping out once in a while with the action 2md clutch. what could be wrong. it's the passenger side axles that pops out when i tried to floor it.
