Default Anyone run a bigger width tire in the front?

I thinking about running a 225 50 15 next summer, moving from a 205 50 15.
From whats calculated my tire diameter will go from 23.1 to 23.9 and width from 8.3 to 9.0 inches.

Questions, my car is boosted (99 4dr) and will hopfully be making in the 300whp range. However, it sits about 2.75-3.0 inches lowered, no cambre kit in the front. Am I dreaming, or will this work giving me significantly more traction without rubbing or having any other unsuspected problems?

Anyone else run this or tried? Any help or advice please

I've seen 225/50-15s before, you just can't be slammed and you have to have stiff shocks and springs. Lot of autox/road race guys run that, either staggered or 225s out back too.

it will work.. but the offset of the wheel needs to be pushed out .. you won't be able to run any sort of deep dish wheel.. good luck and repost when you get your new tires.

The wheels I have up front are 15 konig heliums, which I think are 42mm off set. Suspension is GC on KYB AGX's.

Anyone else with some experience, as said, this is for straight line, from a dead dig and from a roll..

it seems with 3" drop and 225, u will rub when u turn and the tires will probably stick out....i remember hearing something on canadian tv (not sure if it's true in the states too) that if your tires are out further than your fenders, you can get ticket for that. if you still wanna run it, might have to cut the plastic inside the fender to prevent rubbing and drive very carefully over any bumps.

205 is wide enuf for a daily driven civic

225s would probably have rubbing issues. There are some positive aspects of running a wider tire/rim in the front, but for a daily driver I'd rather make the tires last longer by being able to rotate them.

How wide are the rims? 7"?

lol, I just want something that will hook better on the street. I don't care to rotate them to the back. I found some info in the autox/track section, it seems 225 50 15 with a 1.75 inch drop needs to have fenders rolled.

i run the same size all around, but wider in the front...

basically, i use 225/45-15's on all 4 corners, but i run a 15x8.5 wheel in the front, and a 15x7 in the rear. with the extra rim width, i gain 1 inch of rubber on the ground in the front.

stick with the 205's on the right offest wheel, get a camber kit, engine mount inserts, an engine dampener, and radius rod setup. you will hook at that point
