Default 225/50/15 R888 on 6.5" wheels??

I am running a set of 205/50/15's on my 15x6.5 wheels and want to upgrade to the r888 with wider rear tire. Will a 225/50/15 or 225/45/15 work? Any experience running this set up?

Can you run that wide of a tire on a 6.5"? Sure. Just keep in mind that there will be an excess of heat in the sidewalls, due to them being oversized for the width of the wheel.

You can safely run a 225 on a 6.5?

If you're referring to only track purposes, it would be fine. I assumed that's the reason he asked, although that might have been a bit too presumptuous.

Street and track. I looked at Toyos website and they list the R888 fitting a 6-8in width rim so it should be fine.

According to Toyo, the 225/50-15 fits 6"-8" and the 225/45-15 fits 7"-8.5"

Yeah i didn't clarify. I am actually not sure what tire to get with my set up so i am kind of stuck.

The atom is spec'd with the R888 and Yokohama S Drive tires. I need something that will work with a 1300lbs car with 350whp and keep traction. I will be doing a lot more aggressive mountain driving then track. I am not sure how long it will take to get the R888 up to temp on the street.

Atom ish... my design.

A larger front wheel wouldn't be useful at all. The mid-engine rwd thing makes the car super tail happy. To counter this you need larger rear tires. Also, make the front wider would make the steering heavier.
