Default Anyone ever removed a shaving?

I bought a civic or whatever and the side moldings have been shaved off and sheet metal's covering it. looks smooth, but i dont like it. I thought it was bondo'd but the seller didnt know, he hadnt really messed with it. Anywho, i bout the car for real cheap, no biggie. Anyone ever experienced the sheet metal being taken off or even know if it's possible to do or would i just need to take it to the shop? If you have or even know a link can u shoot it to me, i need to get it removed from the rear quarter panels, imam just replace the doors. and the fenders...

This is a de-rice mission..btw the wheels are up for sell, more than 70% thread on them, only want 250 plus 2 blackies. in 4x100 of course.

If you're really on a mission, just find a junked coupe and ask a junkyard to cut out a little bit of the rear, and scoop up some new fenders/doors

Maybe just shave down the side moldings and then screw them in place. Won't be the nicest but it will be the cheapest and easiest.

ahhh A fellow de-ricer! removing sheet metal is kind of a pain, if someone did a ghetto job its cut and either glued/bondo'ed in if they did it the legit way they welded it in which will be a pain to take out, but with some power hand tools its entirely possible if you don't mind spending the time doing it. good luck man

I wouldn't think it was any metal welded there, most of the time its just bondo. To remove it, just get a wire wheel and goto town. It isn't very hard if you use it.

if its tacked welded on, just take a dremel or some sort and grind off the tack welds. if theres bondo take a chisel to it lol

if its a shammy job I would definitely 100% say bondo, but if your filling a gap like that with just bondo, your destined for it to crack and peek I would imagine, I live in NY so the first winter here would be like show and tell
